“Those shoes make you look like a giant and no Greek boy will ever like that.”

A few weeks ago, I was shopping for shoes to match my dress for the Annual Greek Sweetheart Dance.  After looking everywhere for the right pair of shoes, I came across these awesome Grecian looking high heals.  I was so excited that I had finally found a cute pair.

Right before the dance, I went home and of course I brought the shoes with me to show my family just how cute they were.  As soon as I pulled them out, my Yia Yia (which is the Greek word for grandmother) just about had a heart attack. She told me the shoes were way to high, therefore they were unacceptable for me to wear. Now, my Yia Yia is the typical conservative, old fashion, Greek woman, so sometimes when says things like this I just shrug it off and don’t take it personally.

My mom finally came downstairs and I put on the shoes for her to see.  She froze and then said “those shoes make you look like a giant and no Greek boy will ever like that.”  Lets just say majority ruled and those shoes were returned. Because you know Greek boys apparently don’t like tall girls.
